American President Donald Trump presented a proposal on February 4, 2025, for turning the Territory of Gazainto a "Riviera of the Middle East," demonstrating that the US took over the area after the war. To regenerate the region through the U.S.The strategy calls for the relocation of Gaza's two million inhabitants to neighboring nations like Egypt and Jordan in exchange for investment and development.

The Reaction of Egypt and Jordan-

Jordan and Egypt have strongly opposed the strategy. King Abdullah II of Jordan rejected the proposal during a meeting with President Donald Trump, demonstrating the need for a solution that does not include the rejection of Palestinians. Egyptian officials have also expressed their disagreement and called for a solution that maintains Palestinian supremacy and freedom.

American Support and Diplomatic Power-

President Trump responded to the refusal by saying that if Jordan and Egypt deny the proposed move of Palestinians from Gaza, the United States might reconsider its significant foreign aid to them. The statement shows how transactional U.S. foreign policy has been under Trump's management, with aid usually depending on certain political results.

Global Responses-

The international community has been extremely dismissive of the plan. António Guterres, the UN Secretary-General, issued a warning against any actions that might lead to the racial displacement of Palestinians. European politicians, including French President Emmanuel Macron, have called for a political agreement that defends Palestinian rights and rejects forceful displacement.

The Conditional Acceptance of Jordan-

After an early disagreement, Jordan decided to transport 2,000 sick Palestinian youngsters from Gaza for medical treatment. This action shows Jordan's positive dedication, but it doesn't mean that he supports the relocation plan as a whole.

Consequences for Middle East-US Relations-

The problem highlights the complexity of U.S.-Middle Eastern relations. Although the United States provided Jordan and Egypt with significant military and economic assistance, these agreements may be strained by the current administration's intentions. The focus on Palestinians returning home may exacerbate stress in the area and raise questions about American involvement there.
